Horizon Bank Promotes Two to Executive VP Roles in 2021

Horizon Bank has promoted two key players in their system to the ranks of Executive Vice President according to Chairman & CEO Craig Dwight.

Dwight has announced the promotion of Lynn Kerber to Executive Vice President, Senior Commercial Credit Officer effective January 1, 2021.

Kerber joined Horizon in 2018 with over 25 years’ experience in the banking industry with prior experience in Commercial Banking, Credit Administration, and Risk Management. At Horizon, Kerber provides oversight for Commercial Credit Risk Management, the Small Business Lending and Government Guaranteed Lending Programs, and Appraisal and Environmental Services. She has been instrumental in the oversight of the SBA Payroll Protection Program to ensure critical support for customers, and also coordinated the implementation of the bank’s adoption of new loan loss reserve methodology.

Kerber obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance and Accounting from Western Michigan University Lee Honors College and a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing and Management from Western Michigan University, Haworth College of Business. She also is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Kerber has been recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan by the Grand Rapids Business Journal; YWCA Tribute Award Honoree; Inforum West Michigan Inner Circle Recipient and a Lakeshore Athena Nominee.

Additionally, Dwight has announced the promotion of Todd Etzler to Executive Vice President, General Counsel effective January 1, 2021.

Etzler obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction Management from Purdue University, and earned his Juris Doctor degree from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

Etzler joined Horizon in 2017 with over 25 years of both legal private practice experience and corporate general counsel experience. He adds in-depth legal and risk considerations to Horizon’s strategy and counsel to Horizon’s Board, executives, and advisors. He was instrumental in helping the Company complete three mergers, leads all real estate and legal transactions for the Company, established a commercial loan document review process, and has become a vital resource to all areas of the bank.
