I-196 Lane Closures Will Shift Traffic Near Holland Beginning Monday

Traffic on the Gerald R. Ford Freeway, I-196, will face lane closures for road work starting at 6am tomorrow morning, Monday, April 12th and run through April 23rd according to officials from the Michigan Department of Transportation.

MDOT engineers say that the section impacted will be on southbound I-196 approximately 1.5 miles before and after M-40 near Holland.

Southbound I-196 traffic is shifted to the northbound side of the roadway near 140th Avenue, just north of Blue Star Highway Exit 41. Both directions of traffic are separated by a barrier wall. The ramps at the southbound I-196/Blue Star Highway (Exit 41) interchange are also closed.
