I-94 Repaving Near Harbor Country Starts Thursday

As the road construction season in Michigan begins to slowly wind down, here’s another heads up for you regarding I-94 travel in the Harbor Country neighborhood. Crews at the Michigan Department of Transportation tell us that they will begin repaving more than three miles of the interstate highway this Thursday and that work is expected to run about six weeks before completion.

The project will entail repaving of I-94 between M-239 and Kruger Road near New Buffalo, a stretch of more than three miles getting the makeover.

Work is slated to begin this Thursday, September 12th, 2019 and run until Thursday, October 24th, a six-week timetable.

MDOT has project details and a map at their Mi Drive site online.

Construction crews project that there will be daytime single-lane closures and nighttime double-lane closures, throughout the duration of the project, so plan your travels through that region accordingly.
