Info Session Set for Those Facing Ringing in Their Ears

If you face a seemingly perpetual cacophony of ringing, buzzing or whistling in your ears, you may be suffering from what is known as tinnitus. For some the battle is real and non-stop, for others, perhaps temporary and fleeting. Either way it can be maddening, but there is help in identifying the underlying causes of the condition.

A team of hearing professionals from Dr. Kasewurm’s Professional Hearing Services in the Edgewater district of St. Joseph will host an informational event for those who suffer from tinnitus next Monday, November 4th at 5pm. Dr. Terry McIlvaine, Dr. Hannah Reeg, and Tony Meyer who is a Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist, will discuss the causes, symptoms, and potential relief solutions for people suffering with tinnitus.

Tinnitus is the perception of noise or ringing in the ears. Tinnitus isn’t a condition itself — it’s a symptom of an underlying condition, such as hearing loss, ear injury or a circulatory system disorder.  Although tinnitus can worsen with age, for many people, it can improve with treatment.

Dr. McIlvain, a Doctor of Audiology, says, “I’m excited that we have developed a program to work with patients who suffer from tinnitus. We are the only office in the area to offer this type of information and help.”

To register for the informational event call (269) 982-3444. Keep in mind that space is limited so the earlier you call to reserve your seat, the better.
