‘Intalia’ –Former Santaniello’s to become Indian & Italian eatery

Intalia sign

Closed for more than three and a half years, it appears a new restaurant is on the horizon for the former Santaniello’s location on Glenlord Road.  A new sign has appeared on site and a little information—along with a ton of speculation—has appeared on social media.

The sign tells us that the new restaurant will have a dual specialty:  Italian and Indian cuisine.   It makes sense with the heritage of the former restaurant being one of the area’s best loved Italian spots for decades and the new ownership of the property being Bhola Singh of Grranger, Indiana, operator of more than 35 MEGA liquor and convenience stores in the Michiana region, plus at least a couple of restaurants.

Efforts by MoodyOnTheMarket.com to reach Mr. Singh for comment and a timetable on his plans in Lincoln Township have been unsuccessful.

When Singh purchased the Santaniello property in 2022, there was speculation that it might be transformed into a MEGA Liquor Store in both name and size—the facility is more than 10,000 square feet including a large banquet and event hall and accompanying kitchen.  However, the newly erected sign also highlights the banquet facility, putting an end to the liquor store prediction.

No credible timeline for the opening of the new restaurant is known.  Several people commented on social media that they or friends have been working in the building recently, updating facilities and systems.  That would suggest there’s no major remodeling to do, and that, with the appearance of the sign, an opening date might not be far away.  However, no ‘nelp wanted’ campaign has been noted so far.

When we know more… we’ll tell you on MoodyOnTheMarket.com.
