Junior Achievement adds three new board members in Berrien and Cass counties

Junior Achievement of Berrien & Cass Counties has announced the addition of three new members to its board of directors.

The new members include Scott Crawford of Sturgis Bank & Trust, Alex Schaeffer of Kruggel Lawton, and Marla Schneider of Cornerstone Alliance. Laura Lutterbeck, chief operating officer of Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes, said the organization is “grateful for their willingness to engage with JA and share their time and talents.”

Crawford is a commercial lender with Sturgis Bank & Trust and has held multiple roles in financial services, including mortgage advising and member services. Schaeffer, a certified public accountant and partner at Kruggel Lawton, has 24 years of public accounting experience and leads the firm’s municipal and school district services in its St. Joseph office. Schneider serves as president and CEO of area economic development organization, Cornerstone Alliance, overseeing initiatives to attract business investment and expand opportunities across Southwest Michigan.

Junior Achievement provides work readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship programs to K-12 students. The organization says it aims to inspire young people to succeed in a global economy.
