Krasl Art Center Lines Up Broad Array of Fall Class Programming

As you find yourself stepping away from the campfire and the baseball field this fall in search of new ways to enjoy life in Michigan’s Great Southwest, the Krasl Art Center in St. Joseph invites you to explore all of the new ways to enhance your artistic skills starting in September.

The Krasl has announced their Fall 2020 outdoor & in-person programs, take-home kits, and virtual classes beginning on Thursday, September 17th. Classes are open to both Krasl Art Center members and non-members at all age ranges and skill levels. Students must register 5 days before the class of their choice begins. All programs are available online at http://krasl.org, or you can call or visit the center at 707 Lake Boulevard in St. Joseph or by calling 269.983.0271.

Outdoor and virtual classes offer a safe way for students to explore their creativity in a wide range of mediums and class lengths. Classes will take place on the Krasl’s Oval Lawn out front. All students will be spaced 6-feet apart in tents (when not exploring the natural beauty of St. Joseph) and required to wear masks while class is in session. For more information on KAC’s new guest policies visit http://krasl.org/visit/hours-admission.

Requested by popular demand, the Krasl is excited to offer five Krasl Kits this fall in addition to virtual and in-person courses. Krasl Kits contain all of the supplies and instructions to complete amazing projects from home, both for youth/families and adults (13+). Youth and Family kits include Tye-Dye masks and Clay Dinos & Dragons. Adult kits include Slab-Constructed coffee mugs. You can purchase and schedule your pickup at the education tab at krasl.org.

Home-school, virtual youth classes (ages 5-12) are available in ceramics, drawing, & animation. Taught by local professional artists, these classes enrich children’s artistic skills in a fun, virtual atmosphere. Students will be able to schedule art supply and clay-piece pickups once enrolled. Classes include Mud-Makers, Cartooning: From Paper to Sculpture, Greenscreen & Stop-Motion Animation, & Drawing & Painting with Depth. Visit the education tab at krasl.org for full descriptions, pricing, and registration.

Art classes make a great night out (or in) with someone special. Adult/teen (ages 13+) classes include drawing, painting, and ceramics. You can visit the education tab online at krasl.org for full listings, descriptions, and registration. Students in virtual classes will not have access to the studios.

Krasl Art Center is proud to offer many free and fun art activities for families. Beginning September 9th, you are invited to join them on their Facebook fan page for Family Nights with the Benton Harbor Public Library from 5 – 6:30 pm on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, or on the second Saturdays for Family Days at 11 am. Pick up your free Fundle (that’s a fun bundle) on Mondays and Sundays the week before each event, and work on fun art activities together. Visit https://krasl.org/education/free-and-fun/ for the full schedule.
