Krasl Art Fair Number 57 Now Just Days Away on St. Joe Bluff

One of the longest running, highest-rated, most popular art fairs in America is just days away from taking up residence along the full stretch of St. Joseph's Lake Bluff Park as the city welcomes the 57th Annual Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, July 14th and 15th.

The 57th extravaganza of top-flight art from across the nation hits the bluff on Saturday, July 14 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday, July 15 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Artists from across the United States will come together to bring fine art and fine crafts for sale to the public at the nationally ranked art fair. Nearly 1,000 artists applied for the opportunity to be one of the juried artists featured at this year's event. This year 200 new and returning artists representing 11 media categories with unique, distinctive styles will participate.

The event is very family friendly as the younger set is invited to enjoy the Krasl Kid's Zone, where children create make-and-take artwork, Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Donations are appreciated.

Additionally, the Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff features the Children's Art Purchase Program for young people interested in starting their own art collection. Some of the artists have select art for sale at a cost of $10 and less for children age 14 and under to purchase. Participating artists have a "CAPP" sign on their booth.

Under the rules of the City of St. Joseph ordinance book, the art fair is a pet-free event. Pets are not permitted within the perimeter of the Krasl Art Fair for the duration of the weekend.

To kick off the weekend, the Krasl Art Center invites the community to a Friday Night Block Party - sponsored by Kruggel Lawton CPA's and The Livery Microbrewery. The Block Party takes place on Friday, July 13th from 5 pm-10:00 pm at Pearl Street & the Maud Preston Palenske Memorial Library Garden for a suggested $5 donation. At the Block Party, you can enjoy top-notch local fare, including The Livery Microbrewery's beers, Lake Michigan Vintners' wines, and food trucks from Baja Gringo and Nosh Village. Entertainment will be provided by the local trio The Backups and a rock/funk jam band from Ann Arbor - Pajamas and opening act, Jack Adams.

Visitors to the world-renowned Art Fair can also take in the sights and sounds at this year's Beer & Wine Garden. It's your chance to enjoy beers from The Livery Microbrewery, award-winning Michigan wines from Lake Michigan Vintners, and delicious food from Nosh Village. Music by local performers and yard games also provide a relaxing break during the Art Fair experience. The Beer & Wine Garden is located at Pearl Street & the Maud Preston Palenske Memorial Library Garden, and will be open on Saturday, from noon-6 pm and on Sunday, from noon-4 pm.

Another great option for visitors showcases Food cARTs in the concession area at Lake Boulevard and Broad Street, where they will sell farm-to-table fare and additional favorite treats while visitors enjoy entertainment by 98.3, The Coast.

Free parking and shuttle service is available at Kelley's Bowl at 2705 Cleveland Avenue and in the Edgewater business district at 511 Renaissance Drive, with shuttle buses running continuously to drop off and pick up guests at the corner of Ship Street & Lake Boulevard one hour before and one hour after the art fari.
