Lake Michigan College Contactless Food Drive Targets Hospital & Police Heroes

As the seemingly endless days and nights of the coronavirus continue to mount up, the frontline heroes continue to be a focus for many in the community, especially those who know how hard the grind can be for health care workers, law enforcement officers and others. The team at Lake Michigan College continues to work to do their part to help ease the pain, including a new Contactless Food Drive through an Amazon wish list.

Stephanie Steele is helping spearhead the campaign at the Benton Harbor Campus, and says those who are willing to participate and help out can shop the wish list and have all items purchase shipped directly to the college for distribution to Spectrum Health Lakeland and the Benton Township Police.

Steele says, “These people are working long, hard hours and I’m trying to show them some appreciation.”

You can click the link below and a prompt will appear onscreen asking you to create a profile. By selecting yes, your name will be added to the participation list and you can gain access to all of the items that appear on the wishlist. Simply select those items you would like to purchase as a donation to the campaign, and when you click on the “Proceed to Checkout” button, designate shipping to Steph Steele in Benton Harbor, and the items will be dispatched directly to the Lake Michigan College Mail Room under her name.

Then, during the week of December 14th through the 19th, Steph and her colleagues will distribute items to Spectrum Health Lakeland and the Benton Charter Township Police Department.
