LakeHouse Venue Shakes It Up

Now the "Most Romantic City in Michigan" can offer brides & grooms, and everyone else for that matter, a truly million dollar sunset opportunity from an amazing new Event Tent on the spacious front lawn of The LakeHouse Restaurant overlooking the glory of Lake Michigan in St. Joseph.

When Don Bleich and his daughter Amy Heugel launched The LakeHouse two years ago this week they wanted to shake things up, but even they couldn't have hoped for the overwhelming response the waterfront restaurant has enjoyed. Not only has the restaurant and its legendary patio been routinely packed, it has not been uncommon to occasionally see a large party tent pop up onto the beautiful lawn as weddings, birthday parties and other noteworthy events capitalized on that million dollar view in the staging of their celebrations.

Now, just in time for their 2nd Anniversary celebration, they have put the finishing touches on a new semi-permanent tent structure on the southern half of the colorful lawn so that world class events can be hosted there at any time. Capable of handling guest counts of some 200 people, the new event venue will undoubtedly carve out a huge demand simply based on that age old prerequisite of "location, location, location."

Amy tells me that the 2,400 square foot tent with beautiful arched windows facing north to capture the lake view, will host its first party tomorrow, Thursday, May 19th from 6pm to 10pm called, appropriately, "Shake It At The Lake." It is a party to celebrate The LakeHouse's 2nd Anniversary and will feature $2 deals including $2 Bud Light…$2 Sangria…$2 Burgers…$2 Brats…and $2 Hummus w/Pita Chips. Live music will be played from 6pm until 9:30pm, and the party is open to the general public so make plans to be there and help celebrate the anniversary and inaugurate the new tent.

The new Event Tent at LakeHouse has a poured concrete floor to accommodate a dance floor and a more stable environment then temporary structures would offer. It will be in play about 6 months out of the year, remaining in place now until October 9th in the current season.

The new venue is the result of ongoing requests for such a structure from many people who wanted to host larger scale parties overlooking the lake from the top of the bluff along Lakeshore Drive. The new tent is available for any type of event and can be booked through Kristi Clark at 269-982-8020 or by email at events@thelakehouserestaurant.com. Catering for events will be handled exclusively by The LakeHouse kitchen staff, and there are still lots of available dates for the summer season ahead if you are looking to host a grand event.

The photo accompanying this story at Moody on the Market.com is from the patio at The LakeHouse and that amazing view will continue to be readily available and unblocked by the event tent, which is strategically situated on the southwest corner of the spacious front lawn at 3029 Lakeshore Drive in St. Joseph. That's the corner of Hilltop & Lakeshore in the city.

It has been a glorious run for the two-year old restaurant thus far, and with the opportunities ahead at the event tent, the future is brighter than ever. Don, Amy and the entire cast and crew look forward to having you join the celebration Thursday night for a $2-buck party and a million dollar view!
