LECO Hosting Encore of Fit 4 Fall 5K Run/Walk to Benefit Local Charities

The rapid growth of the annual Fit 4 Fall 5K Run/Walk presented by LECO in St. Joseph is readily evident in the success they achieved in just half a dozen years. Over that span, the race has become a perennial fan favorite thanks to the hard work and dedication of the LECO family of employees and friends. This fall marks the 7th annual edition of the great run, and as has become tradition, three local non-profit agencies will directly benefit from the race to continue their own outstanding work in Michigan’s Great Southwest.

The 2018 Fit 4 Fall 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 9:00 am. Once again, the race will be held at Saint Joseph’s Riverview Park and funds from the race this year will support Hospice at Home, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the LOGAN Autism Learning Center in Southwest Michigan.

You might want to act by the end of the week, as Early Bird Registration will run until August 31st at $20 per individual or $10 for youth 14 and under, and prices increase $5 thereafter. The first 500 registrants will receive a race shirt and goody bag. A silent auction will also take place with item donations from local businesses available for bid. Visit http://www.fit4fall5k.com for further registration and race information.

The Fit 4 Fall 5K is truly a community effort. Opportunities are still available for businesses to participate in the Fit 4 Fall 5K as sponsors, goody bag contributors, or by donating items for the silent auction. For more information, visit www.fit4fall5k.com, or contact Tiffaney Ackerman, Sponsorship Director, at tiffaney_ackerman@leco.com or (269) 985-5496.

Last year’s 2017 Fit 4 Fall 5K was held on October 14th and was able to raise $18,000 for three local charities. Even with some unexpected weather, there was a strong turnout the morning of the race. Overall, the 2017 Fit 4 Fall 5K had 559 registered runners and walkers, and the proceeds and Silent Auction funds went on to benefit Hospice at Home, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the LOGAN Autism Learning Center in Southwest Michigan. The $18,000 was divided equally between these three organizations.
