Community members interested in life-long learning opportunities can enroll in several specialized classes throughout the Spring semester.
The Department of Extended Education includes customized training, workshops, workforce training, extracurricular activities, and general interest classes for non-degree-seeking students. Community members can explore new interests and learn new skills through these opportunities. Businesses can also partner with LMC to create customized employee training opportunities.
Classes are offered in short workshop formats or meet regularly at LMC’s Benton Harbor Campus, 2755 E. Napier Avenue, Benton Harbor; South Haven Campus, 125 Veterans Blvd., South Haven; or Allegan Tech Center, 2891 116th Ave., Allegan.
“Extended Education classes offer individuals the opportunity to learn a skill or gain knowledge in a short time,” LMC Director, Extended Education Chad Dee said. “We want to offer our community members an alternative to a traditional 14-week commitment.”
The following programs are being offered between January-March: CDL-A Trucking, Concert Choir, Instrumental Chamber Ensemble, Jazz Band, Conversational French, English as a Second Language, Genealogy, Marine Maintenance Technician, Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) – South Haven Campus, Little Red Hawk Volleyball Camp, Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider – CPR Training.
