Your chance to sleep in one of the fanciest tents of your life is growing closer by the day thanks to Mark & Karla Lemoine. You may recall that last fall we told you about plans by the Lemoines to bring Luxury “Glamping” — Glamorous Camping — to the woods just off the shores of Lake Michigan, and that work is progressing daily in Hagar Township.
As Americans celebrated Memorial Day and the unofficial start of summer this past weekend, Mark & Karla Lemoine, Owners and Managing Partners of the Coloma/St. Joseph KOA Holiday, were busy giving guests in their park a sneak peek into one of three new Luxury “Glamping” Tent sites, and have now shared pics on their FaceBook page as well. Although the project has been delayed due to the inclement weather — all that rain — this spring, work on the sites is soon wrapping up to be ready for guests within the coming weeks.
In the world of outdoor hospitality, these unique accommodations prove that camping does not mean “roughing it!” While they can accommodate four persons, the Lemoines wanted to create a special retreat that would provide an enjoyable and relaxing experience for couples.
The luxury tents will be perfect for a romantic get-a-way, special occasion, or just some time off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. They feature a walkway to a raised platform with a canvas safari tent. Inside, the tents will be nicely appointed with a queen bed, futon couch, night stands with lighting complete with USB ports to charge your phone, Edison-bulb ceiling lighting, a mini-fridge, heater, and air conditioning. Outside, you’ll find two rocking chairs on your deck, a picnic table, a Weber gas grill and a paved patio space to relax by your enhanced fire experience.
Mark Lemoine tells us, “These glamping sites will be an exciting option for guests who are looking for a unique outdoor experience,” and adds, “As an established camping-resort, guests will also enjoy our other amenities such as free Wi-Fi, heated in-ground pool and hot tub, and the on-site Café including our Hunt Brothers specialty pizza with delivery right to your site.”
