Maddog 5/1 Rolls Out New Gear

If you know Marydawn Taggart at all, this story won't surprise you in the least, but for others, the relentless drive for perfection rages on. Taggart is the owner and operator of Maddog 5/1: Revolutionary Fitness of St. Joseph and her expansion and growth have been exponential, and she'd like you to come and see it all first hand.

Taggart's hip and happening fitness studio at 715 Broad Street in St. Joseph is having an Open House this Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 9:00am until noon. The event is open to the public, and will afford you the opportunity to learn more about the Maddog 5/1 experience, talk with the Maddog trainers, and see first-hand some of the classes that are taught in the studio.

The Maddog 5/1 experience is for all ages, and all levels, according to Marydawn. As she says,"Fitness has a place in all of our lives." She adds, it's about a mindset, and finding your passion to commit. The Maddog trainers work with our clients to fuel this passion. We are excited to talk to people of all ages and fitness levels about their goals, and this Open House is the perfect opportunity to do this."

In March, Taggart added a new fleet of RealRyder bikes that monitor heart rate, calories burned and the cadence of each rider. She says, "We are perfecting our rides for a smarter, and higher calorie burn for our clients." There are 19 bikes in the house, and the riding studio features a stage for the Maddog trainer.

Several new classes are being added to the Maddog 5/1: Revolutionary Fitness roster starting the week of Monday, May 2, 2016, and include:

  • Biker RR Barre-this class is a combination of two favorite Maddog 5/1 classes; igniting a sluggish metabolism, and creating a lean, strong body. RealRyder is the cardio, and barre movements are the strength. All levels are welcome.
  • Platinum Fit-the perfect class for the Baby Boomer generation. Have fun getting fit while increasing strength, and improving balance and flexibility.
  • Yoga Rocks-This unique heated yoga practice allows the mind to open as energy, balance, strength and flexibility are used in this 60-minute vinyasa-style class.
  • Smart Ryde-Ryde Smarter-This is a must for all Maddog clients wanting to maximize their RealRyder workout. This class explains the combination of heart rate, resistance and cadence for an optimal ride. Personal threshold tests will be conducted to determine individual heart rate zones.

Marydawn has been a client of the Women's Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance since 2010. She has worked with the team to launch her business in January, 2011, and for her multiple expansions and relocation of the studio in 2014.
