Market One, the economic development agency serving Cass and Van Buren counties, is seeking public nominations for its sixth annual Market One Awards, recognizing businesses making a difference in the region.
Market One says nominations for the Best New Business of the Year awards opened this week and will run through March 25. Two winners will be selected — one from each county.
The award honors businesses that have been operating for two years or less as of January 1 of this year. Judges will consider factors including strategic planning, employee development, community involvement and customer service.
Self-nominations are allowed, and community support will factor into the selections. The winners will be selected by the Market One Board of Directors, and an awards ceremony is planned for June.
Last year’s winners were Sly’s Seafood & Co. in Paw Paw and Lake Effect HVAC Company in Dowagiac.
