Market Van Buren’s Morris wins award at statewide conference

Market Van Buren Director Zach Morris has received a statewide award.

Market Van Buren says he’s received the Michigan Economic Developers Association Medalist Award, which is given to those who have demonstrated a commitment to economic development, a dedication to growth of the community, and a record of achievement. Morris picked up the honor at the MEDA Fall Conference this month.

Morris is a graduate of Decatur High School, Davenport University, and the University of Oklahoma. He’s led Market Van Buren for seven years, and during that time, the group says Morris has shepherded more than 45 projects and been responsible for an economic impact of $263 million.

Morris says he’s honored to receive an award for doing what he loves.
