Tom Stanek, Regional Director – Owen Ames Kimball and Chairman of the Market Van Buren Board of Directors commented, “We appreciate the Guild awarding Zach and Market Van Buren the Robert M. Ady Professional Scholarship. Mr. Ady was a pioneer in our industry and it’s an honor to receive this award. Zach and his team have been working hard to move the community forward and this scholarship will support their efforts,” said Stanek.

The scholarship provides complimentary registration to the Guild’s Annual Conference, March 2-4, 2022, in San Diego, California. A scholarship committee selected recipients based on financial need, accomplishments in economic development and a demonstrated desire to engage with site selection professionals.

“The Guild is pleased to welcome these four economic developers to our Annual Conference,” said Charlie Jewell, managing director of the Site Selectors Guild. “The winners will bring perspectives from across the country and our members are eager to meet them and hear their stories.”

The scholarship program is named after Robert M. Ady, founder of the Site Selectors Guild and long[1]time champion of both economic development and site selection. Ady began his career at Fantus Consulting, a progenitor of the site selection profession. As he rose through the ranks and eventually started his own consulting firms, Ady was credited for turning site selection into a viable and influential profession. Ady passed in 2012. The Guild created the scholarship program to honor Ady’s vision for a diverse and inclusive organization.
