Accomplishments
Leaving the corporate world to build my own businesses from nothing. Training over 3,000 sessions in a year (last year – year 4), and donating $1/session to The Alex Mandarino Foundation. Have dozens of clients who have reached their health and fitness goals, hundreds of pounds lost, lifting PRs, and most important – numerous lives changed getting off medications, confidence gained, and life quality increased.

What else do you hope to accomplish by the age of 40?
Grow 5G Fitness community to make a greater impact by adding personal trainers to the team. This will allow us to get more people healthy and live happier and better lives. BeneBites will become a countywide business with multiple locations to help deliver good, healthy, fresh food to everyone we can to change the way we eat, for the better. I currently am working on two health and fitness books to get the word out on how to live healthier lives, and where to start when it comes to health and fitness. And will be working on doing more online training to broaden the impact I can make. My ideal goal is to rid the world of obesity. I know this is impossible, but I will work and never settle until I can help everyone possible.

What was your first job?
Besides working on the family farm (5th generation to live here, hence, 5G Fitness), my first job out of college was with Honor Credit Union in the accounting department

What’s the best advice you ever got?
That is a tough question. I always had people who pushed me and believed in me. Believed I could do whatever I set my mind too, so was always influenced to do so. But most of the advice wasn’t in words, it was actions. My grandparents and parents taught me you have to work hard and treat people right. Not by telling me, but with their actions. My mentor/coach – Cory Gregory – “Why not me?” Kobe Bryant from his high school teacher – “Rest at the end, not in the middle”

Who inspires you most?
My daughter. I know this answer may not make sense, but its her. She was the inspiration to quit the corporate world and step out on my own and start this business. I wanted to show her the way, to work hard, and follow her dreams. And she gets to see it every day.

That one thing about you we’d be most surprised to learn.
Competed in my first bodybuilding show this year at 37

What do you love to do in your downtime?
Not much of that – I love working and what I do! But I love being with my family, sports, fishing, hunting, hiking, and video games and movies.

What book are you reading now?
The Ideal Life

Volunteer activity you love the most.
Helping with The Alex Mandarino Foundation Duck Duck Run

What motivates you to give back to your community?
That is what it is all about. The more you give the more you will get. My cup gets filled seeing others win and the community getting better. And it always comes back to leading by example, my daughter, or others, will see and be inspired to do even greater things than me one day.

What Superpower would you most love to have?
I’m a trainer… its got to be strength right?!

What would you like to leave behind as your legacy once you are gone?
Generational health – I want to impact generations with healthier, happier, more confident and fulfilled lives through health and fitness.

What does the honor of being named to the 40 Under 40 most mean to you?
It means a lot that someone took the time to nominate me for this. That what I am doing is making a difference. That I made the right decision, and that hopefully this helps put me out there in the community even more to make a greater impact on the world.
