After 41 years in chiropractic practice in Southwest Michigan, Dr. Marc Mavis is marking another milestone.
Mavis is welcoming his son, Dr. Jake Mavis into the practice, after Jake’s graduation this year, with honors, from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Palmer is one of the foremost chiropractic colleges in the world. Marc Mavis is a Palmer grad as well, Class of 1984.
Mavis Chiropractic Center, 2550 Niles Road, St. Joseph opened in 1988, after Dr. Marc spent several initial years of practice in partnership with Doctors Vince Ackerman and John Cox in the area before opening his own practice.
Mavis told us that with the addition of Dr. Jake, they have expanded into additional space in their building and added new digital x-ray equipment to enhance patient service. He reflected on his 41 years in the practice, saying, “It’s flown by… because we love what we do, helping patients.” And, he expressed deep and strong pride in Jake’s decision to join the family practice.
