Medic 1, Fisher Reach Settlement

Former Medic 1 Ambulance executive director Jack Fisher will be paid nearly $58,000 in a settlement with the company’s board. Fisher had been on paid leave since late September and board members were concerned about that because he did not violate any bylaws. He had been the director of the ambulance service since 1997 and had been employed with Medic 1 since 1978. Fisher’s settlement pay will be for five months of salary along with a bonus for full-time employees, and the two sides have agreed they will not sue the other. The only issue was the sale of a Chevrolet Tahoe this year that was owned by Medic 1, but selling it was not illegal or any violation of ethics according to the company’s attorney.
