Meet the Michigan Beverage Association

The Michigan Soft Drink Association is now the Michigan Beverage Association.

Founded in 1911, one of the state’s oldest business advocacy organizations announced its new name this month. The shift, according to the association, is to better represent its mission, which is “standing up for Michigan families who enjoy bottled water, juices, sports drinks, and soft drinks, and the thousands of men and women employed across the state to produce and distribute them.”

Derek Bajema is the president of the Michigan Beverage Association, a nonprofit trade organization representing the producers and distributors of carbonated soft drink beverages who have a manufacturing operation in Michigan.

“Our members employ thousands of our friends and neighbors, stock the shelves in more than 10,000 local stores, and provide Michiganders with more great choices than ever to quench their thirst. It’s important work and we’re proud to do it.”

Headquartered in Lansing, you can find out more about the Michigan Beverage Association and the issues they’re working on at their website.
