One of the region’s largest outdoor flea markets is set to return in June as the Michigan Flywheelers Museum hosts its annual “Swap Meet/Flea Market.“

Over 110 vendors are expected at the two-day event which starts Friday, June 7 and ends Saturday, June 8 at the museum which is located on 68th street.

Hours are 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day.

This years marks the 26th anniversary for the fundraising event which started out as a place for tractor collectors to swap and trade tractor and engine parts.

Over the years, it has evolved into more of a flea market with vendors selling everything from baked goods to bicycles.

“The idea for this event was to offer a place for old engine and tractor people to find much needed parts,” explained Patrick Ingalls, museum president, “along with raising some funds to help with operational costs and restoration projects.”

In conjunction with the event, the Lakeshore Antique Tractor Pullers will be holding a pull on Saturday starting at noon.

Admission is $2 per person with children 12 and under free with paid admission. Admission includes the tractor pulls on Saturday. If you would like to bring a Personal Transportation Vehicle, like a golf cart, there is a $20 registration fee. Pets are only allowed with those selling or camping. Parking is free.

For those interested in selling, cost is $20 per vendor. Vendor registration starts Thursday, June 6 at 8 a.m. Spaces are on a first come basis and there is no limit to the amount of space you take. Selling of firearms, weapons, fireworks, MFM logo items, political items (including Confederate merchandise) is not allowed. Vendors can camp on their lots at no extra charge.

Camping is available for visitors. Cost is $20 per night per camping unit plus daily admission per person.

All proceeds from the events are used for operational expenses and education projects at the museum.

The Michigan Flywheelers Museum is located at 06285 68th Street. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of antique farm machinery and its history.
