Celebrate maritime craftsmanship and timeless tradition on South Haven’s waterfront next weekend!
Step back in time and experience the beauty, artistry, and nostalgia of vintage watercraft at the Michigan Maritime Museum’s 44th Antique & Classic Boat Show, taking place Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This beloved event brings together boat enthusiasts, collectors, woodworkers, and families for a one-of-a-kind celebration of historic small craft – from elegant powerboats to charming paddle boats.
Guests will enjoy a lively waterfront atmosphere filled with unique vessels on display, hands-on boatbuilding demonstrations, and engaging family activities like toy boat building for kids. Whether you’re a boat aficionado or simply curious, there’s something here to inspire and delight.
“Our goal is to preserve and promote the heritage of classic watercraft while providing a fun, educational, and interactive experience for visitors of all ages,” said Ashley Deming, Director of Education & Programs at the Michigan Maritime Museum.
As you explore the show, you’ll also discover all the Museum has to offer – from immersive exhibits to the impressive fleet of historic and replica vessels docked along the newly expanded campus.
“We’re proud to host this iconic event on our growing waterfront campus, showcasing not only these stunning boats but the spirit of maritime tradition that defines our museum,” said Patti Montgomery-Reinert, Executive Director.
And don’t worry about packing a lunch – Taqueria Y Mariscos El Primo will be on-site serving up delicious, authentic Mexican fare. Enjoy street tacos, Elote (in a cup or on the cob), and refreshing beverages like Mexican Coke, Jarritos, and bottled water as you take in the sights and sounds of the show.
Admission to the boat show is included with general Museum admission. Come for the boats -stay for the stories, the craftsmanship, and the waterfront charm.
