Monogram Inn & Suites Debuts Phase 2 Development in Downtown Bridgman

Southwest Michigan’s newest premier boutique hotel, situated a stone’s throw from the shores of Lake Michigan, will celebrate the official ribbon cutting on Phase 2 next month and the public is invited to check it all out with the teams from the Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce and Greater Bridgman Area Chamber & Growth Alliance.

The new Monogram Inn & Suites at the Bridgman crossroads will celebrate the occasion on Wednesday, October 10th at 4pm in the afternoon.

Billed as Southwest Michigan’s newest premier boutique hotel, the Monogram Inn & Suites is just steps away from the downtown shopping district and a stone’s throw from Weko Beach. At the Bridgman crossroads of Red Arrow Highway and Lake Street, the inn offers 4 high-end suites and 7 inn rooms, accommodating 2-8 people.

Phase 1 of the project officially opened back on June 1st when the MTM Centre Project Group debuted several suites for rent there. Phase 2 of the project includes the 7 room Inn, which officially begins taking reservations starting November 1st.

Located at 9729 Red Arrow Highway, each suite includes a full and half bathroom, a washer and dryer, full-size kitchen stocked with dishes, cutlery, a microwave, a dishwasher, refrigerator, a gas range, and oven, plus the 7 one bedroom inn style rooms. Additionally, below the Inn and Suites guests will discover new retail locations in the Spring of 2019 including a High Fashion Women’s Boutique Hummingbird Fashions, and Fusion Gallery, which will feature SW Michigan Glass Artists creating fused glass, blown glass, and framework. Classes will also be held for beginners to the advanced.

The 11,000 square foot space is part of the MTM Group’s Monogram Centre project that broke ground in September of 2016. The space, had previously been home to the original Monogram Hotel built in the 1930s, and has been completely renovated and refurbished as part of MTM’s overall plan shepherded by local developer Marty Mason and Mitchell Construction. Both companies are committed to preserving the integrity of the art-deco era structure dating back to the early 1900s which includes the former Dave & Ruth Telephone Building.

Elizabeth Stevens is MTM’s Executive Director. She says this new hotel is the first of its kind in the area, and is designed to attract visitors to Bridgman, noting it is, “Where they can discover the many activities in Lake Township, and throughout Berrien County.” She adds, “The suites offer everything you need to enjoy a weekend away, a special event, or an extended vacation.” Stevens also points out that “Bridgman is a key part of The Southwest Michigan Makers Trail, showcasing local craft beers, wines and hand-crafted spirits.” She says the hotel will be run in an AirBNB style, allowing guests to check in and out as they please.
