January 2024: “It takes a village to raise a child.” This month Pat Moody shines a light on how the Boys and Girls Club is not only a key part of that village but is also raising up the next generation of village members. In this interview, you’ll hear a testimony of one child’s experience and learn more about how you can support the clubs.


December 2023: Come along with Pat Moody and the team as we visit The Center for Growth and Independence. See first-hand how this organization helps people with disabilities in southwest Michigan bloom and grow. They help people discover who they are and what they’re good at. Their primary goal is to remove the isolation that comes with disabilities and instead connect individuals with a community through supported employment, community living support, and semi-independent living services. They even offer respite care so that care takers can have some time for themselves without worrying about their loved one. Learn all about it by watching this short video.


November 2023: Pat gets some great advice from Professional Hearing Services on how to protect one of our most critical senses. Julie Duensing shares how the average age for hearing loss is getting lower and Dr. Terry shares a study that has shown the use of hearing devices can slow cognitive decline. October 2023: Our Lady of the Lake Schools has some big news to share with us this month! Zack sits in for Pat to learn more about a million dollar scholarship pledge to help new students with tuition assistance in 2024. We were invited to record in the Global Trading and Finance Lab – just one of the many unique opportunities available to students at Our Lady of the Lake. We even had a chance to tour the new Makers Lab in the elementary school. Watch this short video to learn more.


September 2023: Welcome to another episode of Moody on the Move published the first Monday of every month. This time Pat takes us to a place that will literally scare the YELL out of you. It’s the Niles Scream Park and we are talking to owner, Pete Karlowicz! This year they are celebrating 50 years of FEAR. Tickets are on sale now at haunted.org. April 2023: Zack East fills in for Pat Moody this month when he talks with Tracy and Barry Adams about why they love coming to work every day. A local contractor they work with calls them “problem solvers, not problem finders.” They even sacrificed their holiday to be sure as many people as possible could have heat – sometimes having to plow the driveway before they could begin looking at the heating situation. July 2021: This month Pat Moody goes on the move to visit Dr Gyl Kasewurm at Professional Hearing Services. Relaxing in this beautiful Italian-themed space, we learned that “many people don’t know what they don’t know. June 2021: Moody on the Move travels to Countryside Academy in Benton Harbor. Countryside Academy is a tuition-free, Young 5s – 12th Grade public school system serving approximately 750 students and their families in Southwest Michigan. Their 98 acre site includes a greenhouse, woods, ponds, stream and gardens. Students can attend full time or part time to take advantage of their many programs such as aviation. May 2021: In this episode of Moody on the Move, we are headed to Niles to talk with Dr. Zechariah Hoyt, Director, Early Childhood Development for our local YMCA of Greater Michiana (Benton Harbor-St. Joseph YMCA). Find out what’s in the works for this summer and learn how the YMCA adapts to the needs of the communities they serve.
