The Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven has found a new director.
The museum announced last year current Director Patti Montgomery Reinert is stepping down in September of this year after 16 years with the organization. A national search for her replacement then began, and now the Maritime Museum has announced that Bailey Sisoy-Moore has been appointed to serve as its next executive director.
Sisoy-Moore is a lifelong Michigan resident with a passion for maritime history. She’s the founder and director of Detroit History Tours and the proprietor of the Detroit History Club. The Michigan Maritime Museum says she’s also an award-winning author, historian, and heritage tourism leader who “has built her career around producing tours, public programs, and special events at some of Michigan’s most prestigious and culturally significant landmarks.”
Sisoy-Moore was named the Michigan Historical Society’s Business Person of the Year in 2023. She’ll start at the Michigan Maritime Museum on June 10 to give her plenty of time to work with Reinert.
