Set for this Saturday is Finny Lou’s Spring Makers Market in Benton Harbor.

Finny Lou and Company owner Lindsay Lawrence tells us the event will be a chance for anyone to see some of the excellent artisan items made here in Southwest Michigan.

“It’s a local market that we’re trying to display all the small businesses that we have in the community,” Lawrence said. “So we’re just trying to get everybody to come out and support the small businesses and give an opportunity to have some fun with your family. We’re going to have some food trucks. There’s going to be a bar that the parents can get a beverage.”

Lawrence says she held a Winter Makers Market in Benton Harbor in December, and it was well received. So, why did she decide to do it?

“Being a small business myself, starting out, it was just so hard to get my name out there. And I feel like when I was applying for markets, they were already full by the time that I got my application in. So I wanted to host this market to give other small businesses the opportunity to showcase their work and get their name out there.”

This Saturday’s market will feature more than 70 vendors selling everything from baked goods to woodwork to candles. It’ll be hosted both indoors and outdoors at Hidden Pointe Hall at 1062 Nickerson Avenue in Benton Harbor from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lawrence says she hopes people come out and give their support to the small businesses and makers that make Southwest Michigan thrive.
