Next Monday, Gil Logan and Eric Stoub will unveil their latest StorSmart facility in the amazing transformation that has taken place at the former Trend Center building on M-139 in Benton Charter Township. That's when they will conduct a Grand Opening Open House at the 25,000 square foot center at 2254 M-139 to show off their sparkling new facility to the interested public and eager renters, between 11am and 2pm.
The newest StorSmart location features 120 climate controlled units ranging in size from 5×5 foot bays to 10×25 foot sections. Logan says, "We expect to rent up fast as interest in our modern self-storage has been very high." He adds, "These are true climate-controlled units, where the temperature is kept from exceeding 75-degrees in the summer and above 55 in the winter, with humidity maintained below 60-percent."
Climate-controlled storage significantly helps mitigate the risk of damage to stored goods, which is critical for the safekeeping of key documents, artwork and other sensitive items.
Logan says, "It has never been safer to store your items than now," adding, "We encourage any long term storage users to stop in and see the difference." He says the industry has evolved and his team is proud to be leading the way in Berrien County.
Logan and Stoub purchased the Trend Center building in an online auction two years ago, and lost a key tenant in the form of R.A. Mort's Bath Gallery last winter when that company relocated to property they owned a couple of blocks south near the M-139 interchange with I-94. Rather than fretting over that loss, the two entrepreneurs turned the situation into a golden opportunity to transform the entire building into this state-of-the-art, modern, climate-controlled self-storage center.
The two local businessmen have operated their StorSmart Self Storage business for more than a dozen years now from headquarters on Red Arrow Highway just south of Bosch Braking Systems. This spring they introduced a brand new moving service to give everyone additional, quality, moving & storage options.
Their expansion into professional moving services was designed to offer a more comprehensive package for people who are moving either locally or nationwide. When they added the new services, they rebranded to become StorSmart Moving & Storage, offering not only self-storage by also bonded and insured moving crews.
The new facility on M-139, celebrating the grand opening next Monday, August 15th, joins other sites in the line up including along Red Arrow Highway, on Palladium Drive in St. Joseph, and on Park Street in Coloma.
