
The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians of Michigan and Indiana and its Four Winds® Casinos announced today a donation of 1,000 food boxes to those in need during the week of Thanksgiving. This year’s Thanksgiving food box includes a Turkey, Yukon Potatoes, Green Beans, Seasonal Squash, French Fried Onions, Evaporated Milk, and Pumpkin Roll. Distribution will be completed through several organizations and Four Winds Casinos team members were present today at The Pillar Center located at 315 E. Main Street in Benton Harbor to hand out 300 food boxes.
Additional recipient organizations include: Decatur Human Services in Decatur; Marcellus Community Food Pantry in Marcellus; Cooperating Ministries/Methodist Church in Hartford; Action Ministry Center in Dowagiac; Caring Connection in Benton Harbor; Lawrence United Methodist Church in Lawrence, and Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Citizens.
Commenting on the donation, Matthew Wesaw, Tribal Council Chairman of the Pokagon Band said, “The Pokagon Band and our Four Winds Casinos are very proud to continue our long-standing tradition of providing meals to those in need during the holiday season. Food banks typically experience a significant increase in demand during Thanksgiving, and fortunately we are in a position to be able to help fill any gaps.”
Mary Smith, Chief Operating Officer of Four Winds Casinos added, “2025 marks the tenth consecutive year of this program and we hope this offering will lift the spirits and ease the burden of individuals and families struggling to put food on the table for the Thanksgiving holiday.”
