Pri-Mart Hold Up is Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week

The armed robbery of a Watervliet Township service station and convenience store has become the Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week according to Det. Lt. Fred Laesch of the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department. Thanks to surveillance videos, they have distributed photos of two of the three robbers who remain at large.

As reported here last week on Moody on the Market.com, the hold-up occurred just minutes before midnight last Tuesday, March 27th, when the trio struck at the Citgo station owned by Pri-Mart. Located at 3831 M-140 in Watervliet Township, the station is just yards away from I-94.

Michigan State Police responded to dispatch calls for help when the three men robbed the store clerk at gunpoint and stole an undetermined amount of cash. All three men fled the station in an unknown direction.

Police last week appealed to the public for help in identifying and capturing the three men, but at that time had not released any surveillance photos. Those were released this morning when Crime Stoppers made the hold-up the Crime of the Week.

Crime Stoppers wants the persons responsible for this armed robbery and will pay up to $1,000 for information leading to their arrest.  They also pays cash rewards on other felony crimes and the capture of fugitives.

Michiana Crime Stoppers is a donor-funded program that serves 12 counties in Michiana.  You can contact them about this or any felony crime or fugitive by submitting an anonymous tip online at www.michianacrimestoppers.com, or through a link on their Facebook page.  Or you can submit a tip through the same secure link using your smart phone. Look for the free P3 Tips mobile app. You can also still call toll free at (800) 342-STOP.  You will be given a code number and they won’t ask your name.

Michigan State Police Detective Sgt. Douglas Kill is heading up the ongoing investigation into the Watervliet hold-up.

NOTE: The photo has been changed from an earlier posting following word from Crime Stoppers that they had submitted the incorrect photos of the suspects in this case. This is a surveillance capture from that incident.
