Professional Hearing Services Welcomes Dr. Jina Scherer

Professional Hearing Services is welcoming Dr. Jina Scherer, Au.D., to its team. Dr. Scherer will work alongside Dr. Grady HilgeDr. Mitch Kissick, and Julie Duensing, Owner and Hearing Instrument Specialist, at the St. Joseph office.

Dr. Scherer was born and raised in Southwest Michigan and began her education in communication disorders at Michigan State University, where she discovered her passion for audiology. She went on to earn her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from Central Michigan University, graduating in 2002. Since the start of her career, Dr. Scherer has been dedicated to helping individuals with hearing loss hear well and live well.

Following graduation, Dr. Scherer relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where she built a successful career as both an audiologist and business owner. In 2002, she founded Audiology Associates and Hearing Aids Today, growing the practice while serving patients for more than two decades. In 2025, she returned to Michigan to be closer to family and has since joined Professional Hearing Services, where she is excited to serve patients in the community she calls home.

Dr. Scherer specializes in the medical treatment of hearing loss and tinnitus, with a strong emphasis on cognitive health. She is a Certified Dementia Practitioner, allowing her to provide exceptional care to patients with a wide range of needs. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) and is clinically certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

An expert in her field, Dr. Scherer has presented extensively on hearing healthcare, hearing technology, and the treatment of hearing disorders. She is also the author of Hear Well, Live Well, written to educate patients about hearing loss and available treatment options.

Outside of the office, Dr. Scherer is actively involved with her family, church, and community. She enjoys music, being outdoors, and spending time with animals, including riding horses. She and her husband, Sean, are happy to be raising their three children in Southwest Michigan.
