Southwestern Michigan College will hold in-person, on-campus interviews with its three finalists for college president this month.
The interviews will be conducted in the Fred L. Mathews Library and Conference Center at SMC’s Dowagiac campus and will be open to the public.
SMC says first up will be Dr. Jonathan Swarts on Tuesday, October 21, at 3:30 p.m. Swarts has held a series of positions at Purdue University’s regional campuses.
Up next will be Billy Franklin on Wednesday, October 22, at 10:30 a.m. Franklin has held a series of positions with the U.S. Navy, and since 2023 has served as the CEO and Chief of Staff of the Navy Reserve at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
The third interview will be with Dr. Kevin McCaskey. He’s held several leadership and academic roles at the Air Force Academy and currently serves as the U.S. Transportation Command Liaison to European Command and NATO.
SMC says while the public can view the interviews this month, it will not take questions from the audience. Videos of all the interviews will be posted to YouTube once they’re finished.
