Red Arrow Sewer Construction Detour Delayed Until April 20th

If your travels routinely take you along Red Arrow Highway in Chikaming Township and/or New Buffalo Township, here’s yet another updated heads up for you from the Berrien County Road Department regarding sewer reconstruction work that will cause a detour beginning April 20th. The original start date was a week earlier on April 6th but that got pushed back to April 13th…and now it’s on hold until April 20th.

A contractor will now be reconstructing the sewer located in the road right-of-way beginning another week later on April 20th, 2020, in preparation for Red Arrow Highway road construction slated for July of 2020.

Specific Red Arrow Highway intersections will be closed off to traffic, at different times for this project including Community Hall, Townline/Union Pier Road, Berrien Street.

The posted detour route will be Kruger Road to Lakeside Road to Warren Woods Road.

Work is anticipated to take 4-5 weeks, with expected completion around the Memorial Day holiday in May. For additional updates you are encouraged to visit the Berrien County Road Department Facebook page or call their offices.
