Detailed information from Record Show organizers:

The South Bend Record Show, the largest one-day sale of recorded music in Michiana, returns 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, at the Ramada by Wyndham South Bend, 52890 IN 933 N, for its second show of 2022.

Nearly 40 dealers from Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana will fill 85 tables with tens of thousands of music items. The core of the popular record show, held six times a year, remains pre-loved LPs with select vendors also carrying new vinyl releases, 45s, CDs, cassettes, music videos, posters, memorabilia, and vintage stereo gear. The emphasis is on rock, pop, metal, and punk from the 1960s-today, but various musical genres, including jazz, country, and movie soundtracks, are well represented.

“We always have such a good time when we gather for this show,” said South Bend resident Jeremy D. Bonfiglio, who organizes the event. “It’s great to meet new customers and swap music stories with regulars, many of whom have become friends. When they find a record that they’ve been looking for, and just light up, well, for me, there’s no better feeling.”

Bonfiglio added that while many regular vendors are coming back to the show with newly stocked crates, the April show also will feature some dealers setting up for the first time, and several others who are returning for the first time in more than a year.

“Steve Baltic, the poster guy, is back, as is our vintage stereo equipment guru, Brian Staub,” Bonfiglio said. “East coast vendors Maurice Watson, Bill Cox and Craig Williams will be back for the first time since last year with soul, jazz, and more. Robert Alaniz, who runs the popular YouTube channel, Collecting the King, will be selling here for the first time. BCW Supplies, the hobby business based in Middletown, Indiana, will be selling record sleeves, storage boxes, and more to protect, store and display your collection. There’s really going to be something for everyone.”

Admission is free at 11 a.m. Those interested in shopping while vendors set up can pay an early-bird admission of $5 beginning at 9 a.m. Door prizes are awarded at noon, 1:30, and 3 p.m., and food and beverages, including beer, are available for purchase from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. While some individuals accept PayPal and credit card payments, cash is accepted and preferred by all vendors.

Masks remain optional for those fully vaccinated for COVID-19 inside the Ramada and encouraged for those who are not vaccinated.
