Returning Benton Harbor Music & Arts Festival, Riverfest, to Focus on BH Talent in August

The pride of Benton Harbor will be on full-tilt display this summer when live music on the riverfront returns to Benton Harbor with the new music & arts festival called Riverfest.

Slated to be held at Charles Yarbrough Park, located at 880 Riverview Drive, Riverfest will run the weekend of August 6th and 7th, 2021, and will feature the talent of Benton Harbor, as well as area visiting musicians and artists alongside lots of good food, all while reintroducing the community and visitors to the colorful park along Riverview Drive.

There will be a Friday night 5K held in conjunction with Riverfest as well as on-site CirqEsteem circus camps for kids, and a beer and wine tent that will benefit two local non-profits.

The lineup for the event includes internationally renowned performer, and Benton Harbor native, Niki Haris as Friday evening’s headliner. Saturday night’s headlining act is regional favorite, the Benton Harbor based, Andrew Fisher Quartet.

Two non-profits will benefit from beer and wine sales for the event. They include Neighbors Organizing Against Racism, a Benton Harbor based non-profit dedicated to bridging the divide between communities created by the myth of race and the effects of systemic racism, as well as the AFrican AMErican History & Literature Gallery Museum in Benton Harbor dedicated to preserving art and literature by African Americans. The museum is currently working with the local arts organizations and the Benton Harbor, Saint Joseph Arts & Culture Social Justice Group to erect monuments of Martin Luther King, Jr. in both St. Joseph and Benton Harbor.

On-site during the two-days will be artist tents with local and visiting artists featuring and selling their products, and area food trucks. Tickets are on sale now with the option of one day tickets, weekend tickets, and a limited number of tables available for rent each night of Riverfest.
