Shopper Drives Through Auto Parts Store Window

One can only guess what the driver of an automobile that crashed through the front window of an auto parts store in South Haven Township might have been stopping in to buy, but he’ll likely need a lot more parts than his original shopping trip might have been in search of.

The unidentified driver sustained injuries Tuesday afternoon about 2:45pm when either his brakes failed, he sustained a medical emergency, or perhaps accidentally hit the accelerator pedal instead and vaulted through the plate glass window landing the front end of his car inside the product showroom of the Auto Value store at 08668 M-140 in South Haven Township.

Fortunately for fellow shoppers and store employees, nobody inside the store was hurt, although substantial damage was done to both the front end of the store and the front end of the man’s car as shown in the photo provided to us by South Haven Area Emergency Services photographer Tom Renner.

There was no immediate indication as to why the car ended up inside the auto parts store, however, the accident is being investigated by South Haven Police Department.
