The South Haven Jazz Festival will return to the city September 15-16, 2023. The festival consists of two full days of jazz music performed at the Huron Street Pavilion in downtown South Haven. All ages are welcome to attend and admission is free all weekend long.
“Our community looks forward to the Jazz Festival every year, and this year is no different,” said Jennifer Sistrunk, executive director of the South Haven Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Festival organizers have put together an incredible lineup of musicians and bands that we know attendees will love.”
The full schedule of performances includes music from Ted Alan and the Underprivileged, Jim Cooper and the Jazz Connection, the Grand Rapids Jazz Orchestra, Evidence Jazz Group, Pavel & Direct Contact, and Edye Evans Hyde & the Terry Lower Quartet.
Festival attendees can also enjoy “Rhythm Section BASSics for the Modern Jazz Band”, a free masterclass from headlining performer John Clayton. The masterclass takes place on Saturday, September 16 at 1pm at the Listiak Auditorium at South Haven High School. Clayton will be performing on the 16th with the Lake Effect Jazz Big Band to close out the festival.
The event will also include a beer tent.
