South Haven ReStore to close at end of February

Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity has announced it will permanently close its South Haven ReStore location at the end of the month.

In an official statement, the organization said the closure will take effect February 28, 2026. The store will remain open with normal hours until then, as current inventory is discounted and liquidated.

Habitat officials said the decision follows an extensive review and is intended to ensure responsible use of resources. Funding and support currently directed to the South Haven ReStore will be shifted toward expanding the organization’s Home Repair Program in South Haven and supporting future home construction projects in Van Buren County.

Leaders say the move will help address the growing need for safe, affordable housing while assisting families in maintaining stable living conditions. They emphasized that Habitat remains committed to serving the South Haven community through home repairs, household donation pickups, deconstruction services, and future home builds.

The closure does not affect Lakeshore Habitat’s Holland ReStore location or its work in Ottawa, Allegan, and Van Buren counties. Other nearby Habitat affiliates also will continue operating as usual.

The organization thanked South Haven customers, donors, volunteers, and staff for their support since the store opened in 2022. ReStore shoppers and donors are encouraged to use the Holland location on Riley Street.
