The South Haven Theatre Series stages playwright Heidi Schreck’s What the Constitution Means to Me as the third show in its 2024 season at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 31 at Listiak Auditorium, 600 Elkenburg St. Avenue, South Haven.
Organizers say that Playwright Heidi Schreck’s boundary-breaking 2017 play breathes new life into our Constitution and imagines how it will shape the next generation of Americans. Fifteen-year-old Heidi earned her college tuition by winning Constitutional debate competitions across the United States. In this hilarious, hopeful and achingly human new play. Stacy Stoltz, veteran of the Chicago stage, resurrects Heidi’s journey to trace the profound relationship between four generations of women and the founding document that shaped their lives. This play will also feature Chicago based equity actor Paul Fagen and South Haven’s own Claudia Fiedorowicz as Heidi, the teen debater.
The Theatre Series commented, “We are delighted to announce that the South Haven Area Community Foundation has generously agreed to underwrite the entire cost of the What the Constitution Means to Me performance! Their gracious sponsorship enables us to bring this impactful production to our audience, and we are sincerely grateful for their support”.
Tickets are $15 and students are free. They can be purchased at the door or online at www.southhaventheatreseries.org.
