If the current rate of snowfall continues much longer, there could be a record turnout at the 3rd Annual St. Joe Winter Beer Fest just among those who will want to emerge from hibernation by that time. On the other hand, even if conditions are similar to what we have now, the hard core fans of outdoor winter beer festivals will enjoy it all the more.
On January 27th, St. Joseph Today invites everyone 21 years and older to come out of hibernation and meet friends overlooking Lake Michigan during the third annual outdoor Winter Beer Fest presented by The Buck Burgers and Brew. The event takes place from noon to 4pm that day, and will be established at the corner of Broad Street and Lake Boulevard in downtown St. Joseph
Ken Kozminski, owner of The Buck Burgers and Brew says, “Southwest Michigan is a four-season craft brew destination and we are more than excited to launch our third event.” He notes that, “January in Michigan is a perfect time to celebrate the craft brew industry. We have a great mix of both regional and local brewers (16) bringing some outstanding specialty brews to this event. Expect to sample some of the best beers ever brewed and some never brewed before.”
With tickets limited to only 850 available, Amy Zapal, executive director of St. Joseph Today says, “This is one of the hottest tickets around. People come from all over the region to participate in this awesome fest.” Tickets are $35 in advance and went on sale at 10:00am this morning, Wednesday, January 3rd. Ticket price includes: admission, tasting cup, 12 tokens (one token per sample), entertainment courtesy of JellieFish Productions, and winter camaraderie. Festival attendees can order tickets online at themendelcenter.com or purchase them at the St. Joseph Today Welcome Center located at 301 State Street in downtown St. Joseph.
Kozminski expects that beer fans will be excited about the lineup of Michigan breweries planned for the festival. Breweries include:
- Arclight Brewing Co.
- Bell’s Brewery
- Blackrocks Brewery
- Black Dragon Meadery
