The 2026 Great Lakes shipping season is officially underway in the St. Joseph Harbor.
Harbormaster Michael Moran reports the arrival today of one of the harbor’s most familiar visitors, the GL Ostrander/Integrity. The ship, a tug/barge combination was sporting a fresh new coat of paint, according to Moran.
Many local residents have become much more knowledgeable and interested in the harbor and Great Lakes shipping in recent years, via Moran’s almost daily social media posts reporting on and often previewing the arrival and departure of ships visiting the several local docks with shipments of sand, gravel, limestone, cement and other bulk materials.
