Stephanie Timmer named Van Buren Market President at Sturgis Bank

Sturgis Bank has announced that Stephanie Timmer has been promoted to Van Buren County Market President for Sturgis Bank. Stephanie joined Sturgis Bank in 2019 as Vice President of the Western Market and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2021.

Jason Hyska, Chief Executive Officer, said, “Sturgis Bank joined the South Haven community almost twenty-five years ago when we opened our first office there. With our growth in the Van Buren market, and Stephanie’s key role in our expansion, this well-earned promotion is a reflection of her expertise in serving our clients and her leadership skill. We are fortunate to have Stephanie as part of our team, she is truly an integral part of the larger South Haven community.” 

Stephanie has almost 30 years of financial management experience, including roles as a commercial lender, retail sales manager, and branch manager. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Michigan State University, recently completed her studies at the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and holds the Executive Leadership Certificate from the Wisconsin School of Business.

Getting to know our neighbors and provide individualized service, that’s what community banking is all about.”

Stephanie is an active community volunteer, regularly participating with organizations and events in the South Haven area, including:  Caring Circle (Corewell Heath Hospice & Palliative Care), Ice Breaker Festival, Kiwanis of South Haven, Michigan Maritime Museum, National Blueberry Festival,  South Haven Local Development Finance Authority and Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, South Haven Women Who Care, and as a Board Member of the Van Buren County Economic Development Corporation.
