Recognizing that freedom comes in many forms, the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber’s Young Professionals group is electing to honor not only the freedom of the upcoming Independence Day holiday, but the freedom stemming from the removal of state restrictions on the capacity at gatherings around the state all in the same big event.
Chamber President & CEO Arthur Havlicek says that with Michigan officially lifting its statewide COVID-19 restrictions today, the his organization’s Young Professionals are wasting no time in announcing an Independence Celebration at Watermark Solarium on Friday, July 2nd from 5:30 to 11 pm.
The event, sponsored by Honor Credit Union, will feature live music from Mark Ficks and the Significant Others, delicious barbeque from local food truck favorite Wood, Stock and Grill, refreshing beers and cocktails from Watermark Brewing Company, plus yard games, door prizes, and more.
Havlicek says, “Our Chamber Young Professionals are eager to not only kick off Fourth of July Weekend in style, but to also kickstart our area’s return to normalcy after over 15-months of arduous restrictions,” and adds, “We are incredibly thankful to our partners at Watermark Brewing Company and Honor Credit Union for helping us celebrate this momentous occasion and for their dedication to ensuring this event is as fun and robust as possible!”
Watermark Co-Founder, Chris Mason asks, “What better way to bring this community back together than to throw an Independence-themed backyard barbeque on steroids?” adding, “All are welcome and star-spangled attire is encouraged.”
Honor Credit Union CEO, Scott McFarland, says, “The Chamber’s Independence Celebration could not have come at a better time as our communities are eager to come together and celebrate both our country’s independence as well as Michigan’s newfound freedom.
