The day many restaurant-goers in Michigan’s Great Southwest have been waiting for is finally here. The new Texas Corral at Exit 23 in Stevensville will open at 3 pm Monday.
Texas Corral remodeled the former Big Boy building. The work began last Winter and there’s been speculation about ‘opening soon’ since the Spring. Now, that day is here. And families who enjoy the moderately priced steak dinners at Texas Corral are sure to be lined up to order their favorite menu items.
Texas Corral will be open weekdays 3-9 pm, Fridays 3-10 and weekends are still under discussion according to a Facebook post from one of the management team members. The same post asked for customers’ patience as the new team learns their jobs amid labor shortages.
Texas Corral is a small restaurant chain based in Northwest Indiana with eight locations from Highland, Indiana to Kalamazoo. A former Benton Harbor location at Exit 29, Pipestone Road, closed in 2020 after a dispute between Texas Corral and the owner of the building. Customers were disappointed at the loss of one of their favorites, and the search began for a new Twin Cities location. A company official told MoodyOnTheMarket.com several months ago that the former Big Boy building is slightly smaller than most TC locations. However, its prime location drew TC to the site and they slightly adapted their interior layout to fit the building.
What’s the draw at Texas Corral? A ‘review of customer reviews’ by MOTM suggests that customers believe TC delivers on the promise of quality food at a reasonable price. And that their food quality and service are very consistent. In short, the reviews say that TC is the ‘family steakhouse’ that it claims to be, and customers reward the chain with frequent repeat visits.
You’ll have a chance to check that out for yourself starting at 3 pm Monday.
