Trivia and Bowling Fans Invited to Inaugural Play 4 JA Supporting Junior Achievement

The team that works routinely to provide young people with an education in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness is inviting fans to some fun team-building in support of the organization.

Junior Achievement — or simply JA — serving Berrien and Cass Counties, hopes you and your friends and family are up for some fun team-building while at the same time supporting young people engaged in JA.

The Junior Achievement organization is hosting their inaugural Play 4 JA event, presented by United Federal Credit Union. Teams consisting of 4-to-5 players can choose their way to play by selecting to either attend virtual trivia on March 25th from 6-7 pm, or to bowl on their own time at Peat’s Cider Social with a gift certificate provided following registration. The gift certificate will be valid from March 25th-through-June 30th, 2021. Prizes will be awarded for top fundraisers and for those who win the trivia challenge. Businesses and community members are invited to register and raise funds online at this link: https://secure.qgiv.com/event/jabcplay4ja/

Linda Tinsley, Director of Development for JA Serving Berrien & Cass Counties, tells us, “Junior Achievement has always been about empowering youth to own their future economic success. It also connects students to area volunteers from our business community to create mentorsing opportunities,” She adds, “These mentors share their life-experiences to inspire the next generation to turn their own ‘big ideas’ into profitable realities.”

Students involved in JA complete the programs feeling motivated to explore their interests and develop a plan for their future career path armed with the tools necessary to achieve prosperity.

Tinsley says, “This past year has inspired us to add new programs to our traditional methods to increase access for students and to meet them wherever they are. These programs are provided at no cost to students or educators due to generous area partners, grants, and fundraising events.” If you’d like additional information on how you can become a JA Ambassador, you are encouraged to contact Linda Tinsley at linda.tinsley@ja.org.

Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students in grades K-12 about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy. Locally, JA services approximately 4,200 students through experiential, hands-on programs offered through in-person, virtual, and blended-learning program delivery methods.

Get ready to strap on your bowling shoes at Peat’s Cider Social or your thinking cap for the virtual trivia event and have some fun while helping JA students across the region.
