Twin City Players has scheduled a Director’s Forum and Auditions for the initial production of its 92nd Mainstage Season, the musical, Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein, book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, music and lyrics by Mel Brooks, original direction and choreography by Susan Stroman.

A Director’s Forum, for those wishing to meet the director and learn more about the show, auditions, and other ways to be involved, will be held on Tuesday, June 11, at 6:30 pm. Auditions are scheduled for Monday, June 24 and Tuesday, June 25, both at 6:30 pm, with callbacks on June 27 if needed, in the Studio at Twin City Players, located at 600 West Glenlord Road. David Ferrell directs the production.

Comedy genius, Mel Brooks, adapts his legendarily funny film into this monster musical comedy. Grandson of the infamous Victor Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein (pronounced “Fronk-en-steen”) inherits his family’s estate in Transylvania. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick, Igor (pronounced “Eye-gore”), and a leggy lab assistant, Inga (pronounced normally), Frederick finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors. “It’s alive!” he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather’s. With memorable tunes such as “The Transylvania Mania,” “He Vas My Boyfriend” and “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” this is scientifically proven, monstrously good entertainment!

A list of cast/characters needed and additional information to prepare for auditions is available on the TCP website, www.twincityplayers.org. People of all genders and ethnicities are encouraged to audition. For questions, please contact the director at david.dferrell@gmail.com.

Show dates are August 30 – September 22, 2024, Friday & Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2 pm. Tickets available in August. Young Frankenstein (West End Version) is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
