United Federal Credit Union expands mortgage services into Kalamazoo

United Federal Credit Union has announced it is expanding its mortgage services into Kalamazoo, naming Holly Babb as the newest mortgage advisor for West Michigan.

The credit union’s expansion marks the sixth Michigan county where it offers mortgage assistance, joining Berrien, Calhoun, Grand Traverse, Kent, and Ottawa. United also operates full-service branches throughout West and Southwest Michigan.

“We’re thrilled to expand United’s presence into the Kalamazoo area,” said Jeffery Potter, United’s Mortgage Production Manager. “Having Holly lead this new market is a huge win for United and the community. She is a top-performing mortgage lender with deep roots in Kalamazoo, and her experience and dedication will be instrumental in helping local families achieve their homeownership dreams.”

Babb, a native of Mattawan, brings more than 20 years of experience in mortgage lending and customer service, all of which has been in Kalamazoo County. For the last decade, she served as a Mortgage Loan Originator at a local credit union. In her new role, Babb will provide financial counseling to members and generate mortgage loans.

Babb has been recognized as a Top 100 Volume Mortgage Producer by the National Association of Minority Mortgage Bankers of America (NAMMBA). NAMMBA’s annual awards recognize loan originators who have achieved high sales volume and units sold. Babb is also involved with the Greater Kalamazoo Association of Realtors and the Southwest Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors.

United Federal Credit Union, founded in 1949, serves more than 194,000 members with assets exceeding $4 billion. The credit union has branches in several states, including Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Its main office is in St. Joseph, Mich.
