United Federal Credit Union names new director of commercial lending sales

United Federal Credit Union has named Johnathan Wingfield as its new director of commercial lending sales, part of the organization’s effort to expand its commercial lending operations.

According to a statement from UFCU, Wingfield will be based in South Bend, Indiana, and lead a team of business and commercial loan officers across the country. In the role, he will oversee strategies to drive commercial growth, strengthen collaboration with treasury management and merchant services, and align lending efforts with United’s overall sales goals.

Wingfield has more than a decade of experience in commercial lending and business banking leadership. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of commercial lending at a credit union in South Bend. An Indiana native, he earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington and was named to the South Bend Regional Chamber’s 40 Under 40 list in 2018. Before entering banking, he served 10 years in the U.S. Coast Guard.

Founded in 1949, United Federal Credit Union has more than 194,000 members and manages assets exceeding $4 billion. Its headquarters are in St. Joseph, Michigan, with branches in seven states.
