United Federal Expands Lending to NW Indiana

The reach and power of United Federal Credit Union (UFCU) advances next week when the St. Joseph-based credit union will open a new loan/lending office in Granger, Indiana, the first such office over the state line.

On Monday, February 13, 2017, UFCU will christen the new office, offering members and the community a range of financial services including mortgage lending, business lending, indirect lending, and investment planning by appointment.

Terry O’Rourke is United Federal’s President & CEO. He says, “We are excited about expanding into the greater South Bend community.” He notes, “We have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with businesses and community organizations in northwest Indiana in recent years, and are happy to bring United’s member-focused service and exceptional employees to this new lending office.”

The office at 1241 E. University Drive in Granger will open on Monday with office hours established as 9am – 5pm, Monday—Friday, and at optional times by appointment. This is actually UFCU’s second location in Indiana. In 2011, the United Federal Credit Union purchased Griffith Savings bank, marking the first time a federally-chartered credit union had purchased the assets of a state-chartered FDIC-insured mutual savings bank.

United Federal has served its members since 1949 by helping them to build a sound financial future. UFCU consists of more than 150,000 member/owners worldwide, managing assets in excess of $2 billion. Their corporate offices and main branch are located in St. Joseph, with additional branches in Arkansas, Indiana, elsewhere in Michigan, and in North Carolina, Nevada, and Ohio.
