Unsolved Three Oaks Gas Station Hold-Up is Crime of the Week

At least one criminal who ascribes to the old adage about the early bird getting the worm continues to elude authorities. We’re still not sure if you can apply the concept of showing up early being a good thing in this particular ongoing case, though. but Berrien County Sheriff’s Deputies are still investigating a hold up at the Speedway gasoline service station on West Ash Street in Three Oaks nearly seven weeks ago.

Sgt. Sean Soulard first reported that at 4:31 am on the morning of September 11th, the cashier at Speedway, located at 4 West Ash Street, was confronted by a man who demanded all of the money in the cash register and hit the bricks on foot headed west.

Police say no weapon was seen in the hold up, and they brought in a K-9 tracking dog, but the robber was never found and remains at large. He is described as being a white male, approximately 5-foot-3 and around 180-pounds. He was last seen wearing a tan shirt and a neon green or yellow baseball cap, as shown in the surveillance camera photo above.

Berrien County Sheriff’s Detective Lieutenant Rick Biggart now says that incident is the current Crime of the Week from Crime Stoppers.
